Privacy Policy for the AI Awareness Level Survey

2. Purpose of Data Collection
The purpose of this survey is to assess the level of awareness, knowledge, and experience regarding Artificial Intelligence (AI) among university students in selected European countries.
The data will be used exclusively for scientific and educational purposes, including statistical analysis, comparative studies, and academic publications.
3. Legal Basis
The legal basis for processing personal data is:

Article 6(1)(e) GDPR – processing necessary for the performance of a task carried out in the public interest (scientific research),

and, where applicable, Article 6(1)(a) GDPR – voluntary consent of the participant.
4. Scope of Collected Data
The survey does not collect directly identifying personal data (e.g., names, email addresses, student IDs).
The questionnaire includes only:

demographic information (age range, gender, field of study, level and year of study, country of study),

information on the use of AI tools (frequency, purpose, knowledge, attitudes),
-
opinions expressed in Likert-scale and scenario-based questions.
No sensitive personal data (special categories as defined in Art. 9 GDPR) will be collected.
5. Data Processing and Storage

Survey responses will be collected in anonymous form.

Data will be stored securely on servers of Maria Curie-Sklodowska University with access limited to the research team.

Results will be aggregated and analyzed statistically; no individual respondent will be identifiable in any publication.

Data will be stored for a maximum of 5 years for scientific purposes and then securely deleted.
6. Voluntary Participation
Participation in this survey is entirely voluntary.
Participants may withdraw at any time before submission of the questionnaire without any negative consequences.
7. Rights of Respondents
According to GDPR, participants have the right to:

access their personal data,

request rectification or deletion of data,
-
restrict or object to processing,
-
withdraw consent at any time (without affecting the lawfulness of prior processing),
-
lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority (Data Protection Authority in their country).
8. Data Sharing
Survey results will be used only for academic research.
No personal data will be shared with third parties or used for commercial purposes.
Scientific publications will present only aggregated results (e.g., group averages, statistical comparisons).
